Mohamed Emara
Driving Scalable Impact in Modern Medicine
At the intersection of healthcare leadership, system transformation, and patient-centered impact stands Dr. Mohamed Emara, Group Chief Executive Officer of Baheya Foundation & Hospitals in Cairo—one of Egypt’s most influential healthcare institutions dedicated to breast cancer care.
A graduate of Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Emara’s journey began with a perspective that extended beyond clinical practice. Early exposure to public health shaped his belief that improving healthcare systems can impact far more lives than individual treatment alone. This vision guided his transition from practicing physician to healthcare leader across major institutions in Egypt and the Gulf region, including Cleopatra Hospital, As-Salam International Hospital, Andalusia Hospitals Group, and Magrabi Hospitals and Centers.
Recognizing the need for physician leadership in healthcare management at an early stage, Dr. Emara pursued advanced education in hospital management, quality systems, and business administration—earning qualifications from the American University in Cairo, followed by an MBA and a Doctor of Business Administration. This strategic decision positioned him at the forefront of a new generation of physician-executives.
In 2017, he joined Baheya Foundation, where he played a central role in transforming the organization from a single medical facility into a multi-site, nationally recognized healthcare model.
Under his leadership, Baheya achieved Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, expanded its services and infrastructure, and established the Baheya Academy, training thousands of healthcare professionals across Egypt and beyond. The organization’s nationwide awareness campaigns and its flagship annual conference have further strengthened its regional and international impact.
Beyond institutional growth, Dr. Emara’s work reflects a broader mission—building sustainable healthcare systems that expand access, improve quality, and empower communities.
“Medicine is not only about treating patients—it’s about building systems that reach more lives.” - Dr. Mohamed Emara
Despite his leadership responsibilities, he remains deeply connected to the values shaped during his years at Kasr Al-Ainy. From student leadership roles to international representation, the foundation he built there continues to guide his career and vision.
